Md Bayzidul Islam received B.Sc. (2009) in Urban and Rural Planning from the Science, Engineering and Technology School of Khulna University, Bangladesh. He started his professional career in 2010 in the field of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing and worked with organizations like Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) of Bangladesh and Deutsche Gesellschaft for Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. He moved to Germany in 2012 and received his M.Sc. (2015) in Technology and Resources Management with the focus on GIS and Remote Sensing at the Institute of Technology Transfer of TH Cologne. He started to work (2016) in the field of Satellite Geodesy and Remote Sensing at the Technical University of Darmstadt as a Research Associate and Project Manager of the European Union's Horizon 2020 project. Where he was responsible to conduct his PHD and fostering the use of Earth Observation satellite data and its application in different domains. He is currently a PHD candidate at the Remote Sensing and Image Analysis department of Technical University of Darmstadt and working as a Geospatial-Engineer and Project-Manager of a European Space Agency (ESA) funded project at Spacenus GmbH, Darmstadt, Germany
